Squid Bars Company was founded by Taylor Sears in the summer of 2003. Taylor began working in the tackle industry before the start of the company, taking on the role of "bait boy" at Belsan Bait and tackle in Scituate, MA. After being exposed to the "Offshore Fishing World" at an early age, Taylor decided to start creating his own lures to catch many offshore species. Beginning with simple bass dredges and wooden plugs, Taylor began working his way into creating his own custom squid bars. After serious testing, by Taylor, his brother Bryan, and his father Greg, onboard various vessels in Massachusetts waters, one of the most productive designs on the market was created.
